A while back a collector from NYC commissioned a work in the style of the Divine Beauty Series. This was a great opportunity to make a piece that pushed that concept a bit further. The commission was generous enough to allow me to do things I hadn’t done before. Gold Leaf for instance. I had to learn the process and then guild a very elaborate frame. The frame itself involved materials that I had not used before. And the finished work, though not overly large, involved 21 figures making it the most complex work in the series. On August 25, we held a party in our studio, partly to unveil the work before the owner took it home. Fun party. If you didn’t make it, here’s your chance to see the work by clicking here.
